independent transport videos welcome you to this our fifth edition of our occasional series of films featuring the London bus scene - this time it’s a visit to Stratford in east London and a ride on the new Bakerloop route from Waterloo to Lewisham. 
   
We open our programme at Stratford railway station adjacent to the very busy bus station.  Filmed during a morning and early afternoon visit in April 2025 we see many types of buses operated by Stagecoach and Go Ahead.  Some of the double-deckers filmed include ADL Enviro400s, both classic and MMC types including the relatively rare ADL Enviro400MMC bodies on Volvo B5LH chassis.  We see Wright-Gemini bodied Volvos in both body styles as well.  Of course battery-electric buses are now appearing on the scene in great numbers.  Here we see BYD buses with ADL Enviro400EV City bodies as well as the latest BYD E11 02 double-deckers with BYD sixty-one seat bodies and also the Volvo BZL DD with stylish MCV bodywork.  Single-deckers are represented by battery-electric Volvo BZLs also with MCV bodywork and ADL Enviro200EVs on BYD chassis.  We are sure you will spot many more types as you watch this programme! One special bus that does make an appearance is the ‘Spirit of London 7/7’ - keep an eye out for it!  After a busy time at Stratford we make a brief call into the City of London and film some of the action along Bishopsgate where we see buses from Arriva, Stagecoach and Go Ahead that includes some the LT class, Wrightbus ‘New Bus for London’ double-deckers. 
   
The second part of our programme takes you on a ride on board the ‘Bakerloop’ route.  The BL1 – BAKERLOOP route began on Saturday 27^th September 2025.  It operates between Waterloo, Elephant & Castle, Old Kent Road, New Cross and Lewisham.  It is named Bakerloop as it follows the line of the proposed extension of the Bakerloo tube line.  It is operated by Go Ahead’s London General using 12 refurbished BYD / ADL Enviro400EV City buses painted in a brown and white version of the Superloop brand livery, the colours representing the brown of the Bakerloo line.  The seats have been reupholstered in Bakerloo line moquette.  Our filming takes place on October 1^st and begins at Waterloo station’s Tenison Way bus station where the Bakerloop buses lay over.  We see action there and on Waterloo Road as buses from Go Ahead, Arriva, Metroline and Transport UK pass our camera.  We then board Ee43 (LF20 XNN), a BYD K9E 10.9m ADL Enviro400EV City double-decker on the BL1 route to Molesworth Street in Lewisham.  Filming from the top deck we pass many buses including Bakerloop buses heading back towards Waterloo. 
   
At Lewisham town centre we film in the High Street and Rennell Street where most of the buses seen are from Go Ahead and Stagecoach.  Here we board Ee48 (LF20 XNT) a similar Bakerloop bus for the journey back to Waterloo.  This time our camera is in the lower saloon as we film the return journey capturing the sights from the saloon windows.  On arrival at Waterloo Road we film some more action of the buses passing by.  We hope that you have enjoyed your journey!
